Kohl’s corporation is a retail chain based in America. The company was founded in 1927 by Maxwell Kohl, a Polish immigrant. He began his business with a grocery store in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The company became a successful retail chain, leading to the establishment of Kohl’s corporation in 1962. They opened their first department store in that year. The corporation was sold to BATUS Inc. in 1979. In May 2012, the company became the largest department store chain in the United States. Women’s clothing and men’s clothing constitute 30% and 20% of Kohl’s sales, respectively. The remainder of their sales, which accounts for 20%, comes from household products. 10% of the company sales come from children’s clothing, while another 10% each from footwear and accessories. Credit card operations, unused gift cards, and third-party advertising generate 5% of its total revenue. The company has a network of 1,160 stores in the entire United States. The largest markets of the company are the Midwest. More than a quarter of the company’s store is present in this region, led by Illinois, where there are about 65 stores. 20% of the company’s stores are in the West, led by California, where there are 120 stores. They also have stores in other leading states, including Texas, Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York. Kohl’s e-commerce business facilities are present in Texas, Virginia, New York, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Missouri, Maryland, Georgia, and California. The company sells products online, through stores and in-store kiosks. They also provide consumers with free-shipping at their homes. In 2017, they entered into an agreement with Amazon. The company also operates about 15 FILA outlets and approximately three Off-Aisle clearance centres. They sell apparel, national brand footwear, accessories, and home & beauty products. Their merchandises are a mix of both national and private brands. The company’s private brand includes jumping beans, SO, Apt.9, Sonoma Goods for life, and Crofts & Borrow. Some of their exclusive brands comprise Marc Anthony, Food Network, Jennifer Lopez, and Vera Wang. The company is also listed on both Fortune 500 and the S&P 500. It was ranked as the 23rd largest retailer in the United States in 2019 in terms of revenue.;
