In its early phase, this company grew primarily based on acquisitions and purchasing assets such as refined petroleum pipelines, liquid terminals and other allied products. In 1999, Kinder Morgan took hold of KN Energy, a natural gas line company, which became the second traded company of Kinder Morgan under the title Kinder Morgan, Inc. In 2001, the third publicly-traded company, Kinder Morgan Management, LLC, came into existence. Later, in 2005, they also took acquisition of Terasen Inc. and started its operations in Canada. KMI acquired the third publicly-traded company, El Paso Pipeline Partners L.P, in 2012. In 2014, this company acquired all shares of its three acquisitions and emerged as a single, publicly-held energy company. This Fortune 500 company, Kinder Morgan, also possesses approximately 147 terminals that handle and store renewable fuels, vegetable oils, petroleum products, and chemicals. Kinder Morgan also provides a one-stop solution to keep liquid hydrocarbon and natural gas in its best form through their treating plant services.
