Jacobs Engineering Group is a multinational company engaged in technical, professional and construction services. It was founded in the year 1947. The company’s corporate headquarters are located in Dallas, Texas, United States. Jacobs Engineering Group issued its first shares publicly on 17th March 1980. The company’s shares are listed on the NYSE with J as its ticker symbol. J stocks are also included as a component of the S&P 500 stock market index. Jacobs Engineering Group’s business operations span across the globe and cover several key regions, namely North America and the Caribbean, Europe, Middle East, and the Asia Pacific. It has over 400 corporate offices in numerous countries, including the US, Canada, the UAE, Qatar, France, Germany, Ireland, Australia, China, Dublin, Italy, India, Netherlands, Poland, the UK, Switzerland, New Zealand, South Korea, and Thailand, among others. The company employs over 50k people from across the world. Over the years, the company has continued to grow and expand its business portfolio through a number of key acquisitions. In 2008, J acquired Carter and Burgess for a purchase price of $264 million. It bought off TechTeam, Jones and Goulding as well as Tybrin and Jordan for an aggregate amount of $259.5 million. A major merger took place in 2013 when the company purchased Sinclair Knight Merz (SKM) for a price of $1.2 billion (AUS $1.3 billion). In 2017, J acquired CH2M in a $3.27 billion cash-and-stock deal. Another acquisition took place in 2020 when the Jacobs Engineering Group purchased Wood Nuclear for £250 million ($325 million). In 2017, the company received $4.6 billion from the Pentagon. Forbes included J in its rankings of America’s Largest Public Companies in 2018. In 2020, Forbes recognised Jacobs Engineering Group as the Best Management Consulting Firms and also included it in its lists of America’s Best Employers By State, World’s Best Employers and Best Employers for Veterans. As of 2021, the company ranked 206th on the list of Fortune 500 companies. It also ranked 1347th on the Forbes’ list of Global 2000 2020 companies.;
