Headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Ingersoll Rand, Inc. is a worldwide provider of industrial technologies, equipment and other related parts and services. The company has an employee base of over 6,600 people working in more than 30 manufacturing facilities and numerous offices. Ingersoll Rand's operations are located in 35 different countries spread across Europe, Middle East, Americas and the Asia Pacific. The company provides its products and services under three segments - Energy Group, Medical Group and Industrials Group. As of 2020, it serves over 19 industries such as oil & gas, power generation, marine, environmental, mining & construction, food & beverages, pet bottles blowing, government & military, transportation & logistics, etc. Ingersoll Rand has over 50 brands under its name like ARO, Milton Roy, Thomas, NASH, Runtech Systems, WELCH, HARTELL, Gardner Denver, hydrovane, LINC, WILLIAMS, GHH RAND, ILS, BuTech, Evolution, Aerius, Reavell, MAKO, DOSATRON, etc. Some of its products are liquid ring vacuum pumps, sliding vane compressors, single-piece piston, off-highway fuelling systems, side-channel and centrifugal blowers, linear and diaphragm compressor, etc. Gardner Denver's origin dates back to 1859 when the Gardner Governor Company introduced a speed control for steam engines. Subsequently, in 1872 Rand & Waring Drill & Compressor Company was founded, followed by Ingersoll Sergeant's introduction in 1890. Over the next few years, it introduced products like Imperial X-Type portable compressor, psig oil-free centrifugal compressor, Type-30 compressor, etc. The company was acquired by the Cooper Industries, Inc. in 1979. From 1996 to 2020 Gardner Denver has acquired several companies like Twentieth Century Manufacturing, Champion Pneumatic, Lamson Corp., Chaparral, Fort Worth, Ilmvac, Butterworth Jetting Systems, Robuschi, Invincible Airflow Systems, Thomas Rietschle. In 2020, the industrial businesses owned by Ingersoll Rand Plc merged with Gardner-Denver to form Ingersoll Rand Inc. It trades in the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol IR. The company has acquired a position in the S&P 500 index and has also made to the 2020 Forbes' list of World's Best Employer.;
