About the Company

Headquartered in Palo Alto, California HP Inc is a multinational information technology company. It was formed in 2015 when Hewlett-Packard Company split into two branches, namely Hewlett Packard Enterprise and HP Inc. It has about 56,000 employees working in its operations around the world. As of 2020, it operates in 115 locations such as Perth, Rhodes, Beijing, San Jose, Strasbourg, Chengdu, Shanghai, Mississauga, Moscow, Wellington, Lagos, Singapore, Bucharest, Monterrey, etc. HP offers personal computers, printers, IT-related supplies and 3D printing solutions. It provides personal computers under eight categories, including, school, Z workstations, gaming, premium, business desktops, business laptops, everyday usage desktops and monitors. For printers, it has nine categories, such as family print, smart home, scanners, business printers, portable photo, etc. The company also offers business solutions under nine segments, such as VR, HP services, Industry solutions, PC security, Print security, etc. Some of its popular products are HP ZBook Fury 17 G7 Mobile Workstation, HP Z2 Small Form Factor G4 Workstation, HP Pavilion x360 Laptop, HP ENVY 15, HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-in-One Printer, HP DeskJet Plus 4155 All-in-One Printer, HP Z8 G4 Workstation, etc. It entered the S&P 500 component list on 31st December 1974 as Hewlett-Packard Company and re-entered the list on 1st November 2015 as HP Inc. The company continues to trade in the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol HPQ which was originally Hewlett-Packard Company’s trading symbol. Its parent company was founded in 1939 by David Packard and Bill Hewlett in a garage located in Palo Alto, California. One of its earliest customers was one of the chief sound engineers for Walt Disney, Bud Hawkins. By the 1960s, it was recognised by the masses as the symbolic founding company of Silicon Valley. From the beginning of 1990s, it started to expand itself through numerous acquisitions such as Apollo Computer, Convex Computer, Compaq, Opsware, Electronic Data Systems, 3Com, Palm, Autonomy, etc. Its only significant acquisition after becoming HP Inc. was the printer division of Samsung Electronics for $105 billion.;
