Hewlett Packard Enterprise Company is a San Jose based multinational information technology enterprise. As of 2020, it had a workforce of over 61,600 employees working in its operations in over 55 countries. Some of these countries include South Korea, Sweden, Ireland, Taiwan, Turkey, Ecuador, Columbia, United States, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Venezuela, India, Thailand, China, Vietnam, Finland, Russia, Poland, Norway, France, etc.
The company is divided into two divisions - Hewlett Packard Financial Services and Hewlett Packard Enterprise Group. The latter provides its client with servers, consulting, networking and support, while the former offers financial and asset lifecycle solutions. Its HPE Ezmeral Software Portfolio consists of HPE Ezmeral IT Ops & Automation, HPE Ezmeral Data Fabric, Security Software, HPE Ezmeral Container Platform, HPE Ezmeral ML Ops, and HPE Managed Cloud Controls.
It has named its cloud services HPE Greenlake Services, under which it offers 15 different types of IT assistance related to storage, networking, private cloud, virtual machines, containers, governance and management, computation, etc. Simultaneously, its IT Infrastructure portfolio consists of computing, networking, networking management, high-performance computing, infrastructure management and data storage. It offers these to eight segments and industries such as small and mid-size business, financial services, service providers, manufacturing, health and life science, public sector, telecommunication, and media and entertainment. Some of its products are ProCurve, NonStop, Aruba Networks, Cloudline, Synergy, HPE Superdome, ProLiant, OneView, 3Com, HP XP etc.
The company was formed in 2015 when Hewlett Packard split itself. After that, in 2016 HPE made its first individual acquisition and took over Silicon Graphic International. Its next substantial acquisition was in 2017 when it acquired SimpliVity, a data management platform. From 2017 through 2020 the company acquired nine more companies, namely Niara, Cloud Technology Partners, Nimble Storage, Cape Networks, Plexxi, RedPixie, BlueData, Silver Peak and Cray.
As of 2020, it is one of the global leaders in its respective field and ranks 109th in the Fortune 500 list. The company has also made it into Fortune’s 2020 lists of 75 Best Large Workplace for Women, World’s Most Admired Companies and Global 500 companies. Forbes has also recognised it in four of its 2020 lists such as Global 2000, Best Employers for Diversity, etc. It also made it into Forbes’ 2021 list of Just Companies. It is an S&P 500 component and trades in the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol HPE.;
