Harley or Harley-Davidson is one of the two motorcycle manufacturing brands from America that survived the Great Depression. It is headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and as of 2020 has a workforce of more than 5,500 employees across the globe. Its manufacturing units are located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; York, Pennsylvania; Bawal, India; Manaus, Brazil and Thailand. It is the parent company of Harley-Davidson Financial Services and Harley-Davidson Motor Company. Its motorcycles are marketed all around the world, and the company also offers a vast range of merchandise based on its motorcycle and community. Some of these merchandises are toys, apparel, scale models of its motorcycles, home décor, accessories, video games, etc. this company has a deep-rooted respect for the military and it provides special services to people in service as well as veterans. Harley also provides maintenance services and replacement parts for its vehicles. Through its Harley-Davidson Financial Services branch, it offers insurances for its vehicles as well. Harley-Davidson was established in 1903 by William S. Harley, Arthur Davidson, Walter Davidson and William A. Davidson. While still in its growing stage, this company was operational during World War I, marking its age-old relationship with the military. The company also countered the Great Depression and survived with the help of its Art Deco style of motorcycles. In World War II it actively produced two-wheelers specifically for the military. Its origin story was even dramatized by discovery channel in its miniseries called Harley and the Davidsons. As of 2020, it is one of the components in the S&P 500 index list and trades in the New York Stock Exchange under ticker symbol HOG. Its trading symbol was originally HDI, but the company changed it to HOG on 15th August 2006. It is one of the Fortune 1000 companies ranking at 519th as of 2020. The same year, Forbes recognised it in three of its lists - America’s Best Employers By State, Best Employers For Diversity and Best Employers For Women.;
