It is a spin-off from Danaher, a conglomerate based in Washington, DC.
After Fortive’s inception in 2020, it was listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). Fortive Corporation shares are traded under the ticker symbol “FTV”. It has made significant investments in sectors such as facility management technology, construction technology and more. The company’s business is divided into three segments - Precision Technologies Solutions, Operating Solutions and Advanced Healthcare Solutions. FTV was included in the list of Fortune’s Future 50 companies for two consecutive years in 2018 and 2019. In 2020, FTV was included in the list of Fortune 500 companies for the third consecutive year.
Some of FTV’s most popular subsidiaries include Tektronix, Fluke Corporation and Anderson-Negele. Fortive Corporation holds more than 15 subsidiaries in areas such as product realisation, transportation, and automation. FTV has made more than 5 acquisitions and has spent over $6 billion for the same.
In 2018, it completed the acquisition of Accruent, a software company based in Austin, for an estimated $2 billion in 2018. Moreover, in 2019, the company acquired Advanced Sterilization Products for approximately $2.70 billion. The company has also made significant investments in healthcare, and completed the acquisition of a Software as a Service (SaaS) company named Censis Technologies.
In 2020, Fortune named Fortive Corporation in a list that featured some of the most admired companies in the world. This list also included the names of the most influential tech companies in the US such as Microsoft and Apple.;
