About the Company

Exelon is America's leading energy provider, headquartered in Chicago. It is a Fortune 100 company and had acquired the 89th position in the list following a 6.5% increase in its revenue in the year 2016. Exelon is the only electric holding company to have secured a position in the Fortune 100 list. Further, it was also recognized among Fortune's World's Most Admired Companies for a consecutive 11th time in 2017. Exelon is a publicly held company and trades its share in NASDAQ under the ticker symbol EXC. It is also included in the S&P 100 as well as the S&P 500 list and was indexed under Dow Jones Utility Average owing to its remarkable performance in the stock exchange. Speaking of the year 2020, the Exelon stock price touched great heights. Exelon's history dates back to the year 2000 when it was incorporated with the merger between Peco Energy Corporation and Unicorn Corporation. Further, with a merger between Exelon and Public Service Enterprise Group Inc. in 2005, Exelon became the largest utility company in the United States. Later, after merging with Constellation Energy in 2011, Exelon came to own more than 34 gigawatts of power generation capacity, out of which, 55% accounted for nuclear power, 24% natural gas, 8% renewable energy, 7% oil and 6% coal. Also, by 2009, it had majority ownership of 23 nuclear reactors and 14 nuclear power plants marking its remarkable growth. As of 2020, the company generates revenue of approximately $33.5 billion and employs around 33,383 heads under its operations. Being a leading energy providing company, it has extended its business across 48 states in the US, alongside districts of Canada and Columbia. The six regulated utilities of Exelon deliver natural gas and electricity to about 10 million consumers across the US through its subsidiaries - Delmarva Power, Atlantic City Electric, ComEd, BGE, PEPCO and PECO. Further, its Constellation business offers energy services and products to about 1.8 million residential, business and public sector customers.;
