About the Company

Dow Inc. is an American materials science company utilising technology and science to come up with effective solutions. Its shares are traded under the symbol of DOW on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). After splitting from DowDuPont in April 2019, it became a public company and now has its headquarters in Midland, Michigan. The Dow chemical company is one of its subsidiaries. Before its spin-off, DowDuPont was the world’s largest chemical company in terms of revenue. In 2017, the merger between the two companies was reportedly worth $130 billion. After the merger, the board of directors of both the companies decided to split operations into three separate segments - agriculture, speciality products and materials product. The third segment, i.e. the materials product comprises DuPont’s Performance materials unit along with Dow’s chemical, materials, consumer solutions, and infrastructure and performance plastics. The combined revenue for this segment was estimated to be over $50 million. Dow Inc. shares are traded on the NYSE under the ticker symbol “DOW”. After it became a public company in 2019, it was added to the Dow Jones Industrial Average. DOW’s operations are divided into three business branches - Packaging & Speciality Plastics, Industrial Intermediaries & Infrastructure and Performance Materials & Coating. DOW manufactures a wide range of products that include durable goods, food and speciality packaging, home and personal care, adhesives. It also possesses a global development and commercial network which consists of 8 research and development centres. Its packaging and speciality plastics segment offer products like ethylene vinyl acetate, polyolefin elastomers and polyethylene. The second segment- Industrial Intermediaries & Infrastructure consists of two popular businesses - consumer solutions and performance monomers. This segment offers products like polyurethane, systems, aromatic isocyanates and propylene glycol. In 2020, DOW won four Edison awards for its technological breakthroughs. Moreover, the company also won four sustainability awards by the Business Intelligence Group. DOW has also jumped up to the 22nd place on the list of top 50 companies for diversity 2020.;
