In 2020 itself, it acquired eight new companies namely, Bright Wolf, New Signature, 10th Magnitude, Code Zero, Tin Roof Software, Lev, Collaborative Solutions and EI-Technologies. Except for EI-Technologies, which is from France, the rest companies are based in the USA.
The company started its journey as Dun & Bradstreet Satyam Software or DBSS in 1994 as an in-house technology of Dun & Bradstreet. Within two years in 1996, it began to pursue clients beyond D&B. The same year, Cognizant Corporation was formed after Dun & Bradstreet spun off most of its subsidiaries like IMS International, Strategic Technologies, Ericsson and DBSS. The company’s first headquarter was located in Chennai, India and by early 1997 was renamed to Cognizant Technology Solutions.
