Cognizant is a Teaneck, New Jersey-based multinational product-led digital corporation. It has over 170 operations around the world in London, Bangalore, China, Dubai, Bristol, Shanghai, Prague, Toronto etc. The company employed a workforce of around 292,500 individuals worldwide as of 2020. It provides services under three segments - Cognizant Digital Systems & Technology, Cognizant Digital Business and Cognizant Digital Operations. Under ‘Cognizant Digital System & Technology’ it offers services like Cloud Enablement, Enterprise Application Services, Application Services, Core Moderation, Cognizant Security, Quality Engineering & Assurance and Cognizant Infrastructure Services. In ‘Cognizant Digital Operations’ it offers Industry & Platform Solutions, Enterprise Services and Intelligent Process Automation. Lastly, under ‘Cognizant Digital Business’ there are Internet Things, Digital Engineering, Interactive, Artificial Intelligence and Digital Strategy. The company serves 15 industries in total, including healthcare, oil & gas, transportation & logistics, utilities, capital markets, banking, manufacturing, retail, consumer goods, travel & hospitality, insurance, education, life science, information service and communications, media & technology. It also features seven key themes like Code Halos, Blockchain Solutions, AI Primary Research, Digital Maturity Research etc. This company is a component in both the S&P 500 and NASDAQ 100 companies list. It trades class A shares under the symbol CTSH in the NASDAQ stock exchange. On 15th March 2018, CTSH stock prices reached their historical height, at $84.83 per share. Between 2002 to 2020 it has acquired 64 significant businesses or companies from around the world. In 2020 itself, it acquired eight new companies namely, Bright Wolf, New Signature, 10th Magnitude, Code Zero, Tin Roof Software, Lev, Collaborative Solutions and EI-Technologies. Except for EI-Technologies, which is from France, the rest companies are based in the USA. The company started its journey as Dun & Bradstreet Satyam Software or DBSS in 1994 as an in-house technology of Dun & Bradstreet. Within two years in 1996, it began to pursue clients beyond D&B. The same year, Cognizant Corporation was formed after Dun & Bradstreet spun off most of its subsidiaries like IMS International, Strategic Technologies, Ericsson and DBSS. The company’s first headquarter was located in Chennai, India and by early 1997 was renamed to Cognizant Technology Solutions. Over the next few years, it went through several changes, and as of 2020, ranked 194th in the Fortune 500 list. ;
