About the Company

Campbell Soup Company is an American food company revered for its flagship canned soup products. It also manufactures and sells a wide range of high-quality meals, snacks and beverages. Founded in 1869 by Joseph A. Campbell as a canning firm, this company is now one of the largest processed food companies in the USA with an annual revenue of approximately $8.69 billion. The shares of this company are traded on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) under the ticker symbol “CPB”. Besides selling a wide range of products under the iconic “Campbell’s” brand, CPB sells other products like pasta, cookies, and fruit juices under some of its other flagship brands like Pepperidge Farm, Snack Factory and more. Driven by its motto- preparing high-quality food and making them accessible to all, CPB sells its products in over 110 countries. In 1954, Campbell Soup Company shares went public and completed a series of acquisitions, including that of reputed frozen food companies like Pepperidge Farm, Inc., C.A. Swanson & Sons, Vlasic Foods, Inc. and more. In 2006, the largest food manufacturer of the United Kingdom - Premier Foods acquired CPB’s subsidiaries in both Ireland and the United Kingdom. However, CPB’s largest sale was disclosed in the year 2019 when it announced the sale of Arnott’s Biscuits Limited to KKR and Co. Inc. for $2.28 billion. CPB reached a milestone in 2019 when the company successfully acquired Snyder’s Lance for $4.98 billion. Campbell Soup Company started a marketing program in 1973 known as Labels for Education which allowed the schools to acquire computers, books and other educational equipment in exchange for labels or Universal Product Codes or UPCs of Campbell’s associated products. Furthermore, in 2008, CPB promised a lump sum amount of $10 million to Camden’s Public Benefit Plan for the improvement of the community. In 2013, CPB was one of the 65 US employers to be recognised with the “Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles” award by The National Business Group on Health. On 14th October 2020, Forbes declared CPB as one of America’s most JUST companies for performing exceedingly well in areas like community support and transparent consumer communications.;
