About the Company

Headquartered in Columbus, Indiana, Cummins is a multinational company that manufactures, distributes and designs power generation products, engines and filtration products. As of 2020, it had a workforce of about 62,600 employees, serving customers from over 130 countries worldwide. It had around 600 independent and company-owned distributors and 7,600 dealer locations around the globe in places like Madrid, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Spain, Greece, Sweden, India, China etc. It manufactures engines for eight industries including rail, marine, construction & industrial, oil & gas, defence, agriculture, mining and bus, coach & truck. It is also the largest independent engine manufacturer in the world with a range of gas and diesel engines from 37 to 3132kW. The company produces power generation products of seven types, namely G-Drive engines, below 600 kVA, above 600 kVA, marine, transfer switches, controllers & switchgear and commercial mobile. Under engine parts, it offers new parts, Valvoline lubricants, Fleetguard coolant, recon parts and Fleetguard filtration products. The company also offers services like repowers, training, maintenance, service agreement, rebuilds, warranty and repairs. Some of its products include ISB 5.9-liter I6, ISX 15 litre I6, V555 9.1 litre I6, X12, QSK 50-litre V16 etc. The company had three subsidiaries - Cummins Emission Solutions, Cummins Turbo Technologies and Cummins Power Systems as of 2020. Cummins Inc. was established in 1919 by Clessie Cummins and William Glanton Irwin in Columbus, Indiana as a company that focused on developing diesel engines. It took around 14 years for the company to produce something profitable. Post-World War II, its Cummins N Series became an industry leader and was featured in almost every heavy-duty truck from 1952-1959. The company is one of the S&P 500 components and trades under the ticker symbol of CMI in the New York Stock Exchange.;
