Cigna Corporation is a Bloomfield, Connecticut-based health services organisation that serves all over the world. As of 2020, it had extended its services to over 180 million customers from over 30 countries and jurisdictions across the world. It is home to 70,000 employees working for its global network of more than 1.5 million relationships with clinics, facilities and health care providers. It offers solutions to all business sizes and has segmented it into small, medium and large according to the number of employees working under them. The company also offers organisation-specific solutions and has divided it into six segments namely K-2 Education, Third Party Administrators, Hospitals & Health System, Taft-Hartley and Federal, Higher Education, Membership & Affinity Groups and State & Local Governments. Cigna offers families and individuals services like dental insurance, medicare supplement plan, health insurance, international health insurance and medicare plans. Its services and plans for brokers and employers, on the other hand, are segmented under six categories, including dental & vision, pharmacy, group health insurance plans, controlling costs & expenses, saving & spending accounts (FSA, HAS, HRA) and behavioural and health & wellness. The company also offers employers additional insurance options, marketplace & exchanges and Cigna onsite health service. In 1982, two companies named Connecticut General Corporation and Insurance Company of North America or INA Corporation merged their health insurance businesses and operations to form Cigna Corporation. After two years from its establishment, it acquired the American Foreign Insurance Association (AFIA) and marked the beginning of its acquisition journey. Over the years Cigna acquired companies like EQUICOR in 1990, Healthsource, Inc. in 1997, Great American Supplemental Benefits in 2011, HealthSpring 2012, Brighter in 2017, etc. This S&P 500 company trades in the New York Stock Exchange market under the ticker symbol of CI. In 2020, it ranked 13th in the Fortune 500 list.In 2019, it got included into the list of Dow Jones North America and World.;
