About the Company

Headquartered in Prairie, Minnesota, C.H. Robinson Worldwide Inc. is one of the largest logistics platforms in the world. The company makes 18 million shipments every year and has provided transformation solutions to over 78,000 contract carriers and 119,000 customers across the globe. It is a component in both Dow Jones Transportation Average and S&P 500 lists. Its services are divided into nine categories like Truckload, Intermodal, TMS for small businesses, Ocean Shipping, Additional Services, Managed TMS, Air Freight, etc. The industries where it offers logistics services include retail, food & beverages, manufacturing, energy, healthcare, automotive, technology & electronics, government & education, chemical, paper & packaging, and transportation & warehouse. It has also developed some technological and transportation solutions for its customers, which are Freightquote, Robinson Fresh, Freightview, and TMC. Robinson's clientele consists of over 115,000 companies from around the world. Some of the well-known brands under its customer list are Microsoft, Nestle Waters, Pepsico, Kimberly-Clark, General Mills, Lowe's, Lyft, Toshiba, Meyers, Armstrong, Generac, etc. It has operations in 5 locations worldwide, namely India, China, Australia, the United States, and the Netherlands. Even though it was established in 1905, its origin dates back a few years before that, to the early 1900s, when Charles Henry Robinson owned a small wholesale warehouse. In April 1905, he entered into a partnership with the Nash Finch Brothers and established a company, and Charles became its president. He died in 1909 and left the company to Nash Finch Brothers, who then began to expand its operations to different states like Illinois, Minnesota, Texas, etc. It entered the trucking business in 1956 and slowly became one of the leading companies in its respective field. In 1997, it finally changed its name to C.H. Robinson Worldwide Inc. and entered the NASDAQ stock exchange market. Its ticker symbol is CHRW. From 1989 to 2015, it has made several major acquisitions around the globe. Some of the significant ones among them include C.S. Greene International in 1992, Transeco in 1993, American Backhaulers, Inc. and Trans-Consolidated Inc. in 1999, Phoenix International and Apreo Logistics S.A. in 2012, and Freightquote in 2015.;
