As of 2020, Coldwell Banker Richard Ellis (CBRE) is the world’s leading commercial real estate service firm. The company offers services to occupiers, business segments, asset types & specialities, industry sectors and investors from around the world. Under business segments, it offers services under three categories - Global Workplace Solutions, Real Estate Investments and Advisory Services. It provides Investors services like loan services, property sales, alternative investments practice, investment banking etc. Occupiers can avail services like client strategy & consulting, valuation & advisory, labour analytics, facilities management and the likes. The company has services under industrial & logistics, life sciences, financial services etc. for the industrial sector. Whereas, under asset types & specialities, it provides services like data centres, industrial & logistics, residential, golf & resort properties, industrial & logistics, etc. Its origin dates back to 1906 when its predecessor Tucker, Lynch & Coldwell was established. After partnering with Benjamin Arthur Banker in 1913, acquiring Sears in 1981, and merging with Richard Ellis International (REI) Limited in 1998, the company became CB Richard Ellis (CBRE). In 2011, the company underwent another name change and became CBRE Group Inc. Through 1997-2019 CBRE acquired eight businesses and companies. Some of the significant ones among them include Koll Real Estate Services in 1997, Insignia Financial Group in 2003, Trammell Crow Company in 2006, Johnson Controls’ Global Workplace Solutions in 2015 and Telford Homes in 2019. It has been included under the Fortune 500 list since 2008 through 2020, and from 2006 it has been an S&P 500 component. It went public twice, first in 1996, and the second time in 2004 after becoming CB Richard Ellis, under the ticker symbol CBRE. Lipsey Company voted it for 19 consecutive years as one of the industry’s top brands, and for the 8th year, it was named one of the Most Admired Companies by Fortune in 2020.;
