Headquartered in Wallingford, Connecticut, this American company was founded by Arthur J. Schmitt in Chicago in 1932. What started with producing sockets for radio tubes is now one of the largest interconnect product manufacturers in the world.
It offers products for eight different markets, namely, military, broadband, automotive, mobile networks, commercial aerospace, IT7 datacom, mobile devices, and industrial. The company also has more than 100 businesses under its umbrella, like Amphenol RF, SV Microwave, Amphenol PDC, Amphenol Commercial Aerospace Division, etc.

The company also acquired Industrial Sensing businesses via a British engineering group called Meggitt PLC. This encompassed a divestiture of three companies - Piezo Technologies, Piher Sensors and Controls, and Wilcoxon Research.
