About the Company

The Allstate Corporation (NYSE: ALL) is a multinational insurance company, headquartered in Illinois, USA. It offers an array of protection products through numerous brands and diverse distribution channels. The company was founded in 1931. Allstate shares were first sold to the public in 1993. ALL sold $2.4 billion worth of shares on NYSE, which was the largest initial offering in the history of the United States at that time. The company operates both locally and globally. It offers a broad range of products and services such as life insurance, retirement protection, asset protection, estate planning products, and asset management and accumulation, among others. Alongside its operations in the United States, the Allstate family of companies offers insurance and product lines internationally in Canada, the United Kingdom and India. Its company name - Allstate comes from a nation-wide contest held in 1952 which received more than two million submissions. Over the years, ALL has acquired numerous companies and expanded its operations exponentially. The company purchased Esurance and Answer Financial for $1 billion in the year 2011. ALL acquired SquareTrade costing approximately $1.4 billion in 2017. In 2020, it acquired National General Holdings Corporation for $4 billion. Allstate is known for its popular slogan, “You’re in Good Hands with Allstate”. It also holds the naming rights to the Allstate Arena located in Rosemont, Illinois. When it comes to sponsorships, the company adopts a “less is more” strategy. Its sponsorship strategies support football, soccer and racing in the community. ALL entered the Olympics as an official US sponsor for the 2002 Winter Games and 2004 Summer Games. The company, in collaboration with Red Cross, distributed 1,000 disaster kits in Hawaii in 2018. Further, ALL donated $75,000 to Red Cross in 2019 as an effort to distribute 2,900 disaster kits in California. Forbes’ has recognised ALL as one of the Best Employers for Diversity and Best Employers for Women in the year 2020. It ranks 147 on Forbes’ Global 2000 2020 list. With 2018 revenues of $39.8 billion, Allstate Corp. ranked 79 on the list of Fortune 500 in 2019. As of 2020, the company continues to protect people from uncertainties through its varied range of products and services.;
