About the Company

Founded by Henry Taub in 1949, Automatic Data Processing or ADP Inc. is an American company that deals in human resource services and software. As of 2020, it is headquartered in Roseland, New Jersey and has more than 58,000 employees working for it worldwide. In the beginning of its corporate journey, this company was called Automatic Payrolls and offered manual processing of business. By 1985, it started generating an annual revenue over $1 billion and offered employment to about 20% of America’s total workforce. Between 1974 and 2020, it acquired several companies around the world such as Time Sharing Limited, Cyphernetics, Chessington Computer Center, Global Cash Card, and WorkMarket. As of 2020, it has come up with several innovations that are being used widely all around the globe. Few of ADP’s renowned innovations labs are DataCloud, Marketplace, Workforce Vitality Report, Research Institute and National Employment Report. ADP Inc. has won many awards over the years. Among them, the most noted include the Ventana Research Digital Innovation Award for being the Next-Gen HCM Platform in 2020. The same year it was recognised by The Everest Group in its MPHRO Peak Matrix for the 9th year in a row. Further, for the 14th consecutive year, it was named in Fortune Magazine’s “World’s Most Admired Companies” list. The company eases the regulation of a workplace by providing nine different types of products and services including, HR services, benefits, payroll, integrations, ADP marketplace, talent, HR outsourcing & PEO and products by name. Under products by name, it offers software solutions like Comprehensive Outsourcing, GlobalView Payroll, Nextgen HCM, Celergo etc. It has three default ways of segregating clients - by the size of business, by the type of industry and by a partner. It transitioned to the New York Stock Exchange in the 1970s with ADP as its symbol. Prior to that, it was trading on the American Stock Exchange.;
