About the Company

Previously known as Anderson Consulting, Accenture is a multinational professional service company that has a vast range of clientele from both the S&P 500 and S&P 100 lists. However, its strength lies in its 506,000 employees, spread across 51 major countries around the globe. Its origin dates to as far as the 1950s, when it was the business and technology consulting division of Arthur Andersen, an accounting firm. By 1989 Andersen Consulting branched out from Arthur Andersen and became an individual entity. Subsequently, after almost 12 more years it emerged as Accenture – the globally recognised professional services platform. During the 2000s it was headquartered in Bermuda, but after a detailed discussion among its board of directors on 26th May 2009, the company shifted its base of operations to Ireland. The directors also unanimously decided to change its name to Accenture Plc in the same meeting. Apple Inc is one of its major partners, and the two global sensations collaborated to create iOS business software on 29th April 2019. As of 2020, it has over 6000 clients from more than 120 countries across the world. Accenture’s services can be divided under five different categories - Strategy, Operations, Consulting, Technology and Interactive services. Under these brackets, the services it is most popular for are Data and Analytics, Marketing, Merger and Acquisitions, Supply Chain Management, Zero Based Budgeting, Operating Models and Technology Consulting. It entered the stock market on 19th July 2001 with an initial public offering (IPO) of $14.50, and by the end of the day, raised almost $1.7 billion. On 2nd September 2020, Accenture share price rose to $247.18, the highest that it has even been - that too when the global stock market is dangerously unstable. In 2020, the company was recognised for its work by many respectable organisations. The most noted among them include the Fortune Magazine naming it the world’s most admired IT Services company. Apart from that, it also made it to prestigious lists like Forbes Global 2000, Fortune Global 500, Top 50 for Diversity by DiversityInc, Fortune’s list of “100 Best Companies To Work For, and many more.;
