Ambev, formally Companhia de Bebidas das Américas ("Americas' Beverage Business" in English, thus the acronym "Ambev"), is a Brazilian brewing company that has been integrated with Anheuser-Busch InBev. On July 1, 1999, it was formed by the merging of two breweries, Brahma and Antarctica. On March 30, 2000, the Brazilian Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) board of directors authorized the merger. The company's headquarters are in So Paulo, Brazil. It is one of the largest corporations in Brazil and the Southern Hemisphere in terms of market capitalization. Ambev operates in 14 countries in the Americas, with brands such as Antarctica, Bogotá Beer Company, Brahma, Bohemia, and Stella Artois, as well as soft drinks such as Guaraná Antarctica, Soda Antarctica, Sukita, and the innovations H2OH! and Guarah. It is the largest PepsiCo bottler outside of the United States, selling and distributing PepsiCo goods in Brazil and other Latin American nations, including Pepsi, Lipton Ice Tea, and Gatorade under a franchise arrangement.;
