Established on April 29th, 1932, Advance Auto Parts, Inc is one of America’s profound aftermarket automotive parts retailers. As of 2019, it operates 150 WORLDPAC branches and 4,912 stores across the United States, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands and Canada. It also supplies parts to independently owned stores of the brand Carquest in these countries, along with the Bahamas, Mexico, British Virgin Islands and Turk & Caicos.
The company offers an array of replacement and performance parts like batteries, brakes, compressors, hoses, alternators, gaskets, radiators, spark plug, thermostats, air filters, shocks and struts, fog lights, catalytic converters, etc.
All the vehicle components offered by the company’s stores are from top-notch brands, private labels and OEMs for sport utility vehicles, vans, cars, light and heavy-duty trucks.
Advance stores were bought by Arthur Taubman in the year of 1932, when it operated from only two locations - in Roanoke and Lynchburg, Virginia. It experienced its first substantial expansion in 1998 when the company acquired the auto parts and general stores of Western Auto.
By the end of 2001, it had around 2848 stores across 38 states in the US, proceeding to become the largest automobile parts distributor in North America in 2013. It achieved this elite position by acquiring WORLDPAC and Carquest - two leading brands that manufacture automotive components.
The company had also been the title sponsor of Monster Jam from 2009 to 2013 and sponsored a truck named Advance Auto Parts Grinder in that circuit. It was also the primary sponsor of the funny car racer Courtney Force for entire seasons of 2017 and 2018. It was declared the 2nd largest aftermarket retailer by its competitor AutoZone and had retained the position till 2018.;
