We have a fundamental research led, bottom-up approach to investing. The heart of our strategy is to buy companies that are compounding rapidly and selling at a significant discount to underlying business value. Our edge primarily comes from variant perception on smaller, undiscovered companies i.e. parts of the market that larger funds may not be focussed on and from our long-term orientation i.e. willingness to look beyond the volatility of the next few quarters and focus on what the years ahead hold for the business. While we are biased towards smaller companies, we believe attractive investment opportunities come unannounced from various directions and don’t impose artificial constraints on sector, size, ownership, which affects our ability to generate attractive returns for our investor partners while keeping underlying risks in control. The above approach typically results in a concentrated portfolio of between ~12-20 investments across sectors and market-cap sizes positioned to generate strong absolute & relative return over the long-term.
