How are Futures different from Options?

A Future is a contract to buy or sell an underlying asset at a predetermined price and time. The buyer of a futures contract is obligated to honour the contract when it expires. 

An Option is a contract that gives its holder the right to buy or sell an underlying asset at a predetermined price and time. The holder of an options contract has the option to not honour the contract upon expiry.
