Why was my stock order rejected?

Your stock order may have been rejected for the following reasons:

  1. Insufficient Funds or Margin: Your available margin was less than required. Add funds to your account to proceed.
  2. Order Issues:
    • Invalid attributes, incorrect quantities, or prices outside allowed ranges.
    • Restrictions on specific order types like market or stop-loss orders for certain securities.
    • Quantity not in multiples of tick size or exceeding limits.
  3. Trading Restrictions:
    • Securities under surveillance, restricted categories (e.g., GSM, STASM), or insolvency resolution.
    • Orders placed outside trading hours or price bands.
  4. Account Issues: Your account may be inactive, suspended, or restricted due to compliance or regulatory reasons.
  5. Technical Errors: Temporary system or exchange issues. Try again later.
  6. Miscellaneous Reasons: Exposure exceeded permissible limits, or the security was restricted during specific phases.

You can check the rejection reason in the Order Screen for specific details.
