The share market holiday list for 2019 has been revealed! We have included the full list of holidays in a table below.
This year, the list of stock market holiday 2019 is a bit upsetting for many. A majority of the holidays fall on weekdays that are not Monday or Friday. This makes it difficult for investors to have long weekends.
Holidays on Mondays and Fridays are welcomed by everybody. They allow people to club the holiday with the weekend allowing them a 3 day holiday. In 2019, this doesn’t seem possible too many times.

Stock Market Holidays
This is a tentative Indian share market holiday list.

Stock market hours
The normal trading hours at BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange) and NSE (National Stock Exchange) are between 9:15 AM and 3:30 PM every day.
There was speculation about the extension of the trading hours beyond 3:30 PM. However, there has been no confirmation in this regard so far.
Also, there is a special trading occasion called muhurat trading wherein the stock market remains open for specific hours on trading holidays.
‘Muhurat’ is basically a short auspicious period (a few hours at best) in which Hindus believe whatever venture they start will be fruitful.
Muhurat trading is a tradition that the Indian stock markets have been practicing for many years now.
Muhurat trading takes place each year on the occasion of Diwali.
This is because Diwali is a time when the Goddess of Wealth, Lakshmi, is worshiped.
This year Muhurat trading will take on Sunday, on the 27th of October, 2019. The timings of the Muhurat trading will be announced later by the stock exchange.
Most investors already know, Saturdays and Sundays are official trading holidays.
This gives investors 5 trading a week from 9:15 AM to 3:30 PM.
With this list of trading holidays in 2019, investors will never need to ask the question ‘is the stock market closed today?’
2019 is a year of the general elections and has got a lot in store.
