It is India’s largest (having more than 50% market share) and Asia’s 3rd largest paints corporation.

In the last 5 months, Asian Paints Ltd. outpaced the market by surging 25%, as compared to a 13% rise in the BSE Sensex.

It had reported a stellar performance in the Q3 of FY 2019, driven by around 20% volume growth, which is the highest since FY 2011 and tells investors that the performance of its stock remains consistent.

2. Reliance Industries Ltd.

Reliance Industries Ltd. (RIL) is an Indian conglomerate holding company incorporated in the year 1973 and headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

It is engaged in the business of energy, petrochemicals, textiles, natural resources, retail, and telecommunications.

RIL is ranked 148th on the Fortune Global 500, 2018 list of the world’s biggest corporations, and is one of the most profitable companies in India, it is also the largest publicly traded company in India by market capitalization, and the 2nd largest company in India as measured by revenue.

On 18 October 2007, RIL became the first Indian company to cross USD 100 billion market capitalization.

RIL stock has already posted a stellar performance so far this year, having rallied 22.7% to trade at Rs. 1,391, far outperforming BSE Sensex’s 6.4% gain in the same period.

Even as RIL’s stock scaled new heights, pundits remain upbeat on the prospects of the energy-to-telecom conglomerate.

4. Bata India Ltd.

 

Bata India Ltd. is India’s largest retailer and leader in the manufacturing of footwear and is a part of the Bata Shoe Organization.

It was incorporated in the year 1931 as Bata Shoe Company Pvt. Ltd and went on to become Bata India Ltd. in the year 1973.

Its factory in Batanagar was the first Indian shoe manufacturing unit to receive the ISO 9001 certification in the year 1993.

Bata India Ltd. operates a large non-retail distribution network through its wholesale division in the urban region and caters to millions of customers through over 30,000 dealers.

The stock of Bata India has given a return of 33% a year on a normal for as long as 10 years.

As of April 2019, HDFC Bank Ltd. is India’s largest private sector lender by assets and the largest bank in India by market capitalization. Also, it was ranked 69th in 2016 BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands

HDFC Bank product/service portfolio includes wholesale banking, retail banking, treasury, auto loans, two wheeler loans, personal loans, loans against property, consumer durable loan, lifestyle loan, and credit cards.

In the year 2003, RBI issued the license to Kotak Mahindra Finance Ltd., the Kotak group’s flagship company, to carry on banking business in India.

7. Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.

Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (TCS) is an Indian multinational information technology (IT) service and consulting company headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

It is a part of the Tata Group and has its operation in around 46 countries.

TCS is the 2nd largest Indian company, after RIL, by market capitalization and is now placed among the most valuable IT service brands worldwide.

In April 2018, TCS became the 1st Indian IT company and 2nd Indian company ever (after RIL) to reach $100 billion market capitalization, after it’s market capitalization stood at Rs 6,79,332.81 crore in Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

8. Titan Company Ltd.

Incorporated in the year 1984, Titan Company Ltd. is a joint venture between the Tata Group and the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation operating in the consumer durables sector.

It commenced operations with watches under the name Titan Watches Limited.

In the year 1994, Titan diversified into jewelry with Tanishq and subsequently into eyewear with Titan Eyeplus.

10. Hindustan Unilever Ltd.

Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) is a British-Dutch multinational company headquartered in Mumbai, India.

It is engaged in manufacturing and selling of various products in India which include foods, beverages, cleaning agents, personal care products, water purifiers, and consumer goods.

It was incorporated in the year 1993 as Lever Brothers which was renamed in June 2007 as “Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL)”.

As of April 2019, HUL portfolio has 35 product brands in 20 categories and employs 18,000 employees.

In December 2018, the acquisition of GSK Consumer healthcare business pushes HUL among the market leaders in the only key category where it did not have market leadership i.e. food and refreshments.
